1978 STARRATT AND JENKS 45’ SLOOP

LOA: 45'8"  LWL: 31'5"  BEAM: 11'0"  DRAFT: 6'1"
DISPLACEMENT: 25,000#  BALLAST: 12,000#
DESIGNER: Charlie Morgan   BUILDER: Starratt and Jenks; Largo, FL

ENGINE:  Westerbeke four cylinder fresh water cooled 40 hp diesel.  Dual lever engine controls on binnacle.  Engine instruments in cockpit include tach, volt meter, water temperature, and oil pressure.  Racor fuel filter/water separator, bronze raw water strainer, water lift exhaust, two blade prop.

ELECTRICAL:  12v system with one 8D battery, two six volt batteries, and two 12v batteries, selector switch, 12v breaker panel with volt meter, and Pro Mariner 20 amp battery charger.  110v system with 110v breaker panel and shore power cord.

SAILS AND RIGGING:  Masthead sloop rigged.  Painted aluminum mast, boom and spreaders.  Mast stepped on keel.  Stainless steel standing rigging with double lower shrouds and intermediates.  Mainsheet traveler aft of cockpit.  Two Barient #32 primary sheet winches, two Barient #22 secondary sheet winches, two Barient #22 and one Barlow #22 halyard winches on mast.  Looks to be about six sails, best guess is they include a main, 100%, 150%, 170%, drifter and a staysail.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT:  Wheel steering with brake and guard, Danforth binnacle compass, ICOM VHF, Garmin 75 GPS, Marine air conditioner (not installed) Stainless steel two burner propane stove with oven, Stainless steel bow and stern pulpits, Double life lines with gates port and starboard, Cast aluminum bow anchor roller, #45 plow anchor w/chain/rode, Electric windlass

COMMENTS: A rare opportunity for a handy person.  Mast needs to be stepped.  Boat has been dry stored for a number of years.  The fit and finish on this Starratt appears to be better than most I’ve seen.  With a little bit of sweat equity, and a few dollars, this should make a bargain priced rugged cruiser for someone.
